Booking your tickets
You can book tickets for shows at our venues in three ways:
The promoter of each show decides the price range of tickets and the location of the seats within the venue that are assigned that ticket price. Each price is given a category or reserve. The price and location of each reserve in the venue changes with each show. For this reason, the general seating plans published on this website make no distinction between the different reserves. In most instances Premium is the highest price assigned to the best seating areas and B or C reserve is the lowest price. For some shows, all seats may be the same price.
Venues Wellington run a conveniently located box office within The Opera House on Manners Street for ticket sales and collections.
Their standard box office hours are:
On an event day, we will open the box office at the venue two hours prior to the start of the performance or sporting event, so there is plenty of time for guests to purchase or collect tickets. The box office will remain open until the end of the first interval.
If you’re organising an event where attendees are required to purchase a ticket, talk to your event manager who can take you through the ticketing process.
At Venues Wellington we believe a great entertainment experience starts from the moment you buy tickets to one of our shows, and purchasing your tickets online is a great way of ensuring you’ve got the best seats available.
Our recommended online ticket seller is Ticketmaster (Ticketmaster.co.nz), but there are a number of ticketing ‘resale’ websites that sell tickets to events in our venues - for example, dedicated resale sites Ticketmaster Resale, Viagogo, Queen of Tickets, and general sales websites such as Trade Me.
It’s important to note that these websites list tickets on behalf of ticket buyers who have chosen to re-sell their tickets – they are not official ticket agents.
We recommend checking ticket availability on Ticketmaster.co.nz before buying through a resale site. If you do purchase resale tickets, there are some things you may want to consider:
