Everything you need to know before attending an event at a Venues Wellington venue
Know before you go
Our staff and patrons’ safety is our top priority, as such we're following all official Ministry of Health guidelines.
Venues Wellington is taking the following actions to reduce the risk of COVID-19 in our venues:
You are encouraged to wear a mask and if you are ill, please stay at home.
Recommended health and hygiene protocols from Government are visibly promoted.
Staff and visitors are encouraged to adopt best practice health and hygiene habits i.e. washing hands regularly.
An enhanced cleaning schedule in place, including frequently disinfecting all high touch surface areas (door handles, light switches etc.) using hospital grade, long lasting disinfectant.
If you don't follow COVID-19 related instructions at the venue from our staff, you may be asked to leave the venue.
Venues Wellington reserves the right to refuse admission or require the ticket holder to leave the venue without compensation if a ticket holder refuses to comply with the direction of Venue Staff.
The Opera House
The Opera House offers 8 Accessible seats (along with 8 companion seats) located in the stalls section on the ground floor.
Because The Opera House is a historic venue, there is no elevator access.
Access to the Dress Circle is via two flights of stairs.
Access to the Gallery is via an additional six flights of stairs. Some seats may be at steep level and may not be suitable for patrons who experience vertigo.
Please talk to Ticketmaster about any special requirements regarding seats for wheelchair users when booking your tickets. Contact Ticketmaster on (09) 970 9711 or email [email protected].
The Opera House also offers 10 wideband infra-red stethophone hearing loop receiver headsets, which provides coverage to all the stalls.
Michael Fowler Centre
The Michael Fowler Centre offers 8 Accessible seats (along with 8 companion seats) located in the stalls section on the first floor of the building, which is accessible via the lift from the ground floor.
The Michael Fowler Centre has an audio loop for hearing impaired patrons. The most suitable seating location for the audio loop is Stalls Row O-V.
Because the TSB Arena is a flexi-mode venue, the accessible seating options are different for each show.
The TSB Arena Audio loop is available to all patrons seated in Block 8.
As Shed 6 is a flexi-mode venue, the accessible seating options are different for each show.
Shed 6 also has an Infra-Red Audio loop for hearing impaired patrons.
